Nibella’s Inspiration

NIbella

Let me tell you a story about a girl who struggled with skin issues as a teenager. Middle school and high school was not easy to endure when you had a “pizza face” and never knew when more acne would emerge. I would shy away from the mirror and cover the spots with makeup. Confidence was definitely not my middle name.

I constantly tried to find the perfect skincare miracle. I would flip through Seventeen Magazine and see adds for Neutrogena Clean Pore line and tried that, but with no results. I saw Proactiv’s commercial and pounced on the phone and paid for a monthly subscription, only to end up with very very veryyy dry skin.

Finally, I went to go see a dermatologist, and she helped me realize that acne directly correlates with stress and our eating and lifestyle habits. The effects of eating sugary processed snacks, not exercising, and irregular sleeping schedules were all showing up on my face in the form of acne. After reevaluating my food choices, taking yoga classes and sleeping at a more reasonable hour, as well as taking topical medicine, my acne began to subside.

But as time went by, I didn’t want to have to be reliant on these topical medicines, which had many negative side effects. For example, Benzoyl Peroxide bleaches fabrics.

If these topical acne medicines were capable of bleaching fabrics, what harm would they do to my skin and body?

I slowly subsided from using the topical medicines and began researching on natural remedies for acne. The more a researched the more I learned about parabens and toxins that were prevalent in many skincare and makeup products that we find at our local drugstore. I was astonished and new I had to make a change.

Fast forward a few years, and my beauty routine consists of only natural skincare and makeup products. Trying to stay away from drugstore aisles and Sephora was a challenge at first, but my skin has never been more clear and healthy. I can finally stop feeling self-conscious about leaving the house without makeup.

Of course, it doesn’t stop from there.

Today, I am so pleased to announce the launch of my organic online retail store Nibella. I truly believe that safe and natural beauty products should never be a luxury, but a necessity. Beauty should always be sought after, but never compromised by harmful toxins. I’ve hand selected each organic brand that I’m featuring on my site, so you can shop with confidence and assurance.
